About Me
We are living in amazing times right now, aren’t we? We have instant access to incredible amounts of information, all at the tips of our fingers, right there in our pocket. But while this is great, it can be a little overwhelming sometimes…
Let’s take health information, for instance. We are all concerned about health-related topics, and rightly so. Let’s face it, though – there’s a lot of misinformation and pseudoscience out there, which makes it difficult to know how to separate the real from the false.
Hi, I’m Doctor Dave. I am a board certified Internal Medicine physician with years of clinical experience in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. I also serve as an Associate Professor of Medicine and am involved in clinical education at all levels, from first-year medical student to senior resident.
I strongly believe that one very important role of physicians is to effectively educate their patients. This is where I spend a lot of time when I’m with my patients. Quite often, patients come to me frustrated and confused about their research on health-related topics. Other times, I find that they have been frankly misinformed – at these times, a well-intentioned effort to become more educated on a certain topic has actually led to that individual taking “two steps back.” This is why I think clear, concise, evidence-based explanations are vital in these times. I hope to provide a little of that clarity and honesty on some popular health-related topics. Thanks for joining me!
On a more personal note, I am fortunate to be married to an incredible wife, and we are blessed with four fantastic children. We also have anywhere from three to fifty dogs and a few cats at the house (perhaps a slight exaggeration here, but it’s a zoo regardless), so there is never a dull moment. I have a special interest in nutrition and fitness – these are SO important to health, and that cannot be overstated! Lastly, I’m proud to be a gaming nerd…
